What does being Finnish mean? Who can be called a Finn?

As a photographer I feel it’s my duty to try to prevent rasism and increase tolerance. I want to emphasise that people should not be judged by the way they look. I don’t want anyone to think that the people in the pictures are not Finnish and especially that they’re not ”one of us”. I wanted to bring the people in my photos to life and capture something of their personality. I wanted to make the viewers interested in them and ask themselves who that person is and what they are like. There is something beautiful in everyone, and that’s what I wanted to show.
