What's this? Fukagawa Hachiman Festival photos by Philbert Ono. Held in mid-August in Koto Ward, Tokyo, this is the festival's full-scale version held once every three years (1996, 1999, 2002, etc.).

Sacred Carriage Procession

This is one of two small trucks which served as offertory trucks. You could toss in your money into the back. A police car was right behind this truck, probably to deter any would-be thieves. I wonder how the paper bills did not fly away with the wind.

I wanted to walk up to the truck and photograph the money as well, but I decided not to because they might think I was a thief. Maybe next time...
