What's this? Fukagawa Hachiman Festival photos by Philbert Ono. Held in mid-August in Koto Ward, Tokyo, this is the festival's full-scale version held once every three years (1996, 1999, 2002, etc.).
Rei-taisai Grand Ceremony

On the second day at 11:00 a.m., the shrine's largest annual ceremony, called Rei-taisai, was held. A large number of shrine parishioners greeted a messenger from Jinja Honcho (Shinto Headquarters). The first part of the ceremony was held outside.
