Canon has three camera repair centers in Japan as listed below (in Japanese here<\/a>). Two in Tokyo and one in Osaka. The one in Nagoya closed in March 2019. Sadly, many service centers have closed in recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most people will have to use Canon’s system to pick up and deliver the camera for repairs (Japanese instructions here<\/a>). Canon has an online form for each product you want to repair. Only in Japanese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Canon<\/strong> also has a phone number<\/a> for camera repair inquiries (in Japanese only). This is not a toll-free number:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Operators are available from 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays and Sat. (Closed Dec. 31\u2013Jan. 3)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most camera repairs take a week or so. Sensor cleaning is usually done within the same day if you take it early enough in the day (by early afternoon to be safe). D-SLR sensor cleaning is free during the warranty period and costs \u00a51,000 after the warranty expires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If more than 7 years have passed since your EOS DIGITAL camera was discontinued, Canon might not be able to repair your EOS DIGITAL camera. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Canon’s video cameras, the servicing period is 8 years after the product’s discontinuation. For Canon’s SLR film cameras, the servicing period is 10 or 7 years after the product’s discontinuation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Check this list (in Japanese) to see when your camera or lens’ servicing period will end. If your product is not listed here, it means Canon can no longer repair it.

Directions: Looks like the only Canon service center open on Sat. Service center for camera equipment and direct printers. The first floor is Canon<\/strong> Plaza Ginza where you can find the Canon<\/strong> Gallery Ginza, product showroom, and Digital House. Near Ginza subway station, exit A12 or Higashi-Ginza Station, exit A8. Also walkable from JR Yurakucho Station.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
