Twins

They look like twins or sisters. Real-photo postcard postmarked 1918.

These two are absolutely adorable maiko. I have a huge geisha/maiko/courtesan postcard collection myself, and one of my favourite things, as I am flipping through my albums, is noticing the slight difference in the age of these girls, and the style of the kimono through the last 100 years. While there are many elements that are immediately recognizable as being maiko or geiko, there is almost a distinct separation between the decades that you can almost pin-point whether a photograph came from the 20's, 30's, 40's or 50's and so on :]
