Impressions: In Oct. 1999, the photographer spent a few nights at a few Tokyo night clubs and apparently received permission to photograph their lively (and sometimes lovely) patrons. He has put together a good collection of photos depicting his nocturnal adventure into the wild side.
Tokyo night clubs are where it's at. Lots of action, excitement, and stimulation. Beautiful girls go in and out, people come to see and be seen. The night club scene is part costume party, part sex, part disco, and lots of loud music.

The photos show many "ganguro" (black face) girls who tan themselves brown and wear eye shadow around their eyes for a "panda" effect and light-colored lipstick. Lots of miniskirts, outlandish hair colors (or wigs), skimpy clothing, platform shoes, and a little nudity. None of the photos are captioned so it's impossible to know how he shot the nudes, but he does mention the names of the night clubs he went to in Shibuya, Ebisu, Roppongi, Aoyama, Nishi Azabu, etc. It's interesting to see that many of the girls are there in pairs (no boyfriends).

If you want to know what young Japanese women look like at Tokyo night clubs, this book will serve as an excellent reference.
